February Open House Card #2

 I fell in love with the ginko leave die and had to find a card that would feature the unique shape. 

Cut a piece of Thick Basic White cardstock 11 x 4 1/4 and scored it at 5 1/2, cut 2 1/2 inches off the end and attach a 4 1/4 x 2 3/4 piece of the Symbols of Fortune DSP to the cut end. 

Stamp the sentiment in Tuxedo Black ink. With the dragonfly stamp ink it up in Smoky Slate and stamp off to get a lighter image. 

When I die cut the ginko leaves I opted for the adhesive sheets on the Basic Black and Mother of Pearl paper, to save a gluey mess on the card front

The stamp set has a pretty chrysanthemum and the crane coordinates with the collection.

A Horizontal Front Flap card

  What a cute idea for a card opening and I love the dual use of the Blooming Phrases stamp set. First let's do the folding of the card. Cut a piece of Designer Series Paper 8 x 6 3/4 being mindful of any pattern you have to consider, using a landscape orientation. Score on the left side and top at 2 3/4. Fold and gently burnish the left score line and make a tic mark as indicated. Now fold and burnish the top score line the same way, making the tic mark as indicated. To create the diagonal score, match the tic marks up on your paper trimmer and make the score, fold and burnish To create the fold, push the diagonal fold in and create the square on the top of the Designer Series Paper. Adhere this to the Daffodil Delight Card base. Now for the fun part, the stamping. On the Basic White square, stamp the greeting in Old Olive ink.
