Highland Arch and a Dutch Door

A cute and easy card layout that can be done in your favorite color, with any greeting.

You need an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4. In your paper trimmer, line the right edge at 2 3/4 and cut down to the score line. Take out of the trimmer and cut up the score line to the top of the card.


Take the cutout piece and run it through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine with and Embossing Folder and the Specialty Plate. I used the March Online Exclusive Paradise Garden Folder.

Attach the embossed piece to the inside of the card base. Adhere a Basic White piece to the lower inside, to write your message. 

Die cut an arch from Everyday Arches, stamp the large branch image toward the top of the arch, reink and stamp again at the bottom, just to fill in the area.
Give a second to dry, then run through the Stamp Cut and Emboss Machine with an embossing folder. I use a favorite Timeworn Type; you can use any you have in your inventory. 

Stamp the greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black and fussy cut the greeting.

Adhere the arch to the center front of the short flap with Dimensionals and the greeting on top of it with Dimensionals. 

Finish the card off with Purple Fine Shimmer Gems.

A Horizontal Front Flap card

  What a cute idea for a card opening and I love the dual use of the Blooming Phrases stamp set. First let's do the folding of the card. Cut a piece of Designer Series Paper 8 x 6 3/4 being mindful of any pattern you have to consider, using a landscape orientation. Score on the left side and top at 2 3/4. Fold and gently burnish the left score line and make a tic mark as indicated. Now fold and burnish the top score line the same way, making the tic mark as indicated. To create the diagonal score, match the tic marks up on your paper trimmer and make the score, fold and burnish To create the fold, push the diagonal fold in and create the square on the top of the Designer Series Paper. Criss Cross and a Fun Fold

This fun fold has a special element on the card front. I selected the sheet of Florals in Bloom Designer Series Paper to use on this card because the Granny Apple Green/Berry Brust color combo made me happy.  Score and burnish the Berry Burst cardstock.  On the Basic White cardstock stamp stem from Pretty Florals using Granny Apple Green ink. Next ink up the solid blossom stamp in Berry Burst and stamp off before stamping over the stem. Ink the lined blossom stamp in Berry Burst and stamp full strength over the solid image. Insert this piece inside the card base.  Adhere the larger piece of Designer Series Paper on the inside of the right flap. Adhere the two other pieces on the front and inside of the left flap.  Fold three pieces of the Designer Series Paper strips as shown and fold the other two in the opposite direction.
