Make a Wish and a Fun Fold

After viewing this card layout on another Stampin' Up! Demo's blog, I pulled out a few packages of Designer Series Paper and looked for a paper with a pattern that worked on sides, bold/large on one side and small on the other side, also watching if the paper pattern has a direction. I selected a paper from my retired stash, Wildflower Celebrations. 

Cutting

Pretty in Pink - 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, score at 4 1/4

Bubble Bath - 5 1/4 x 4

Basic White - 5 1/4 x 4, 2 1/2 x 2 1/2

Wildflower Celebrations Designer Series Paper - 5 1/4 x 6, score at 1 1/2 and 4 1/2

Assembly

On the same sides as the score lines on the Designer Series Paper, make a tick mark at 2 5/8 on both sides.


Fold the sides together and adhere to the Bubble Bath cardstock and then to the Pretty in Pink card base.

Now comes the fun fold, 
with your finger over the tick mark fold the corner to the side of the card base

Repeat on all the four corners, gently press down. It will not matter if the fold are not even the sentiment element will cover up a lot of sins.
Use the 2 3/8-inch punch to make a circle out of the square of Basic White.
Stamp the greeting on the lower end in Versa Mark and cover with Gold Embossing Powder and heat. Stamp the banners in Pool Party and Pretty in Pink Ink

Put Dimensionals on the back and attach to the card front. 

Top with In Color Pearls and you are ready to address the envelope.

  What a cute idea for a card opening and I love the dual use of the Blooming Phrases stamp set. First let's do the folding of the card. Cut a piece of Designer Series Paper 8 x 6 3/4 being mindful of any pattern you have to consider, using a landscape orientation. Score on the left side and top at 2 3/4. Fold and gently burnish the left score line and make a tic mark as indicated. Now fold and burnish the top score line the same way, making the tic mark as indicated. Criss Cross and a Fun Fold

This fun fold has a special element on the card front. I selected the sheet of Florals in Bloom Designer Series Paper to use on this card because the Granny Apple Green/Berry Brust color combo made me happy.  Score and burnish the Berry Burst cardstock.  On the Basic White cardstock stamp stem from Pretty Florals using Granny Apple Green ink. Next ink up the solid blossom stamp in Berry Burst and stamp off before stamping over the stem. Ink the lined blossom stamp in Berry Burst and stamp full strength over the solid image. Insert this piece inside the card base.  Adhere the larger piece of Designer Series Paper on the inside of the right flap. Adhere the two other pieces on the front and inside of the left flap.  Fold three pieces of the Designer Series Paper strips as shown and fold the other two in the opposite direction.
