Puzzle Front Card

I follow a Stampin' Up! Demo, Kayla Renee because her use of color and unique designs that inspire me. This card is a case of a recent blog post. The card has a lot of tiny measurements, you could make a simpler version easily; but I love the layers.

It is a center open card, here is the open view.

In designing my card, I knew I wanted to use the Frosted Forest Stencils and had to select a Designer Series Paper that would look provide an accent. I picked a carryover paper Natures Sweetness, because of the gold tone and earthy look.

Cutting

Old Olive: 4 1/4 x 9 1/2, score at 1 & 2 inches form each end, (2) 3 1/8 x 2,     (2) 2 1/8 x 2
Basic Beige: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4, then cut down the middle the long way at 2 1/8, then cut each piece at 3 1/4. ** insert picture

Designer Series Paper Pattern 1: (2) 3 x 1 7/8

Designer Series Paper Pattern 2: (2) 2 x 1 7/8

Designer Series Paper Pattern 3: I used the reverse of Pattern 1, 3/4 x 5 1/4

Basic White: 5 1/4 x 4, 3 x 4 3/4

Very Vanilla: 3 x 3, scrap for sentiment

Assembly

Fold and burnish the score lines on the large Old Olive cardstock. Attach the Basic White inside layer and top with the strip of Designer Series Paper.

Adhere all the Designer Series Paper to the Old Olive and then Basic Beige.

Ahere the layer to the Old Olive base, keeping side, top and bottom even with the card base.

Stamp the tree from Frosted Forest in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Secure the stamped image to your work surface with washi tape/sticky notes. Next lay Frosted Forest stencil 1 over the stamped image, matching the tree trunk/branches, use the blending brush to color the notch area at the top left of the stencil, this will help you align the stencils as you use them. Attach the stencil with washi tape/sticky notes to your work surface. Use a blending brush and Pecan Pie ink to color the area. Carefully remove the stencil and washi tape. Use stencil 2 to fill in the tree leaves, matching the notch, then coloring with Granny Apple Green ink, I varied the darkness of the coloring to help it look more like a real tree. Remove stencil 2 and replace with stencil 3, coloring in with Old Olive ink. Die cut the tree out, on the scraps of Basic White stamp 2 birds, you can either fussy cut them or use the matching die.

Use the Pecan Pie Blending Brush to edge the Everyday Details circle. Attach to the right side of the card, with Dimensionals, checking to assure the card will open. Top the circle with the tree and birds. Stamp a sentiment in Pecan Pie and adhere to the card.

This card in work intensive but what a WOW look.

Have a great day

Window Pane Wreath

Some people are so cleaver and can see other uses for dies other than the intended use. A fellow demonstrator saw a window in the frame of the Sophisticated Sled die and I had to case it for you.

How cute is this!! I used Winter Meadow DSP, that will be on sale August 6 - 31, 2024, 15% off. The DSP was a favorite from last year, the green and blue colors make me happy!

Cutting

Blueberry Bushel: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 score at 4 1/4, 3 x 4 1/2

Lost Lagoon: 2 1/8 x 5 1/4

Basic White: 2 3/4 x 4 1/4, 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 (die cut wreath), 5 1/4 x 4

Smoky Slate: 2 x3 1/2, scrap for sentiment

Winter Meadow DSP: 2 1/8 x 5 1/4

Assembly

Fold Blueberry Bushel card base in half and adhere the Basic White rectangle to the inside.

Randomly stamp Lost Lagoon Snowflakes on the Lost Lagoon cardstock, attach to the right side of the card front, leaving border. Attach the DSP to the left side of the card front, these pieces may overlap in the center.

Run the small Basic White rectangle through the Stampin Cut and Emboss, I used the Birch embossing folder that will be available in September when the next Mini Catalog is released. Attach to the Blueberry Bushel rectangle and then to the card face with Dimensionals.

Die cut out the sled rails from Smoky Slate and the windowpanes from the Winter Meadow DSP. Before attaching the sled/ window to the Basic White, trim off the bottom rails, insert the windowpanes.

Stamp the wreath using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and color with Blueberry Bushel, Granny Apple Green, Garden Green and Old Olive Stampin' Write Markers.

I colored the berries blue, there are three different typed of leaves, I colored each style with a separate color. I have the new style Stampin' Write Markers, they are a HUGE improvement over the previous Markers, the bullet end actually colors/has ink in it! Cut out with the coordinating die and cover the colored areas with Wink of Stella. Attach to the window with Dimensionals.

Tie a loose knot and attach it to the window top with a couple of Glue Dot, the ribbon has an iridescent finish and needs the extra stickiness.

Stamp a sentiment on a scrap of Smoky Slate and attach it to the bottom of the window.

I hope you enjoy this alternative version of the Sled

First Pumpkin Patch of the Season

At my recent monthly open house, I featured a lot of July Online Exclusive products. The first being Scenic Pumpkin Patch. The stamped images will let you create your own Patch. You can also use the Trucking Along (162299) stamp set to add a cute truck to your scene. To start the sentiment label, I selected Greetings of the Season dies and the Seaside Wishes stamp set.

  • To recreate the card, die cut the largest Deckle Rectangle, biggest label and oval label from Very Vanilla Cardstock. Ink up the "grass" stamp in Soft Seafoam ink and stamp the lower edges of the rectangle and big label
  • Using Pebbled Path ink, stamp the fence, try to get it to sit on the grass, not above it, and dotty spots on the rectangle and on the large label sides above the grass.
  • Ink up the pumpkins in Pumpkin Pie and touch the bottoms and sides of the stamp with the Copper Clay Stampin' Write Marker to create a shady look. Set them in the grass. Do the same with the single pumpkin and stamp it on the lower end of the oval label.
  • With Copper Clay in stamp the pumpkin stems, sentiment (close to the pumpkins) and the leaf flourish on the single pumpkin.
  • Adhere the stamps rectangle piece to the Copper Clay card base.
  • Cut a 6 piece of the Copper Clay Jute and tie the large and oval label together, attach to the card base with dimensionals, I liked it tilted a little. I attached the oval label down to keep it from shifting over the sentiment.
  • Lastly, I frayed the jute fiber and trimmed it up and added a piece of Very Vanilla to the inside.

Cutting
Copper Clay: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, score at 4 1/4
Very Vanilla: 5 1/4 x 4 (inside), 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 (rectangle die) 2 3/4 x 5 (label dies)

I hope you enjoy this card

Iconic Celebration

Every once in a while, Stampin' Up! produces a bundle with multiple event images and dies, kind of you one go to set, Iconic Imagery is that set. Birthday, fall, winter you are covered.

I cased another idea from a fellow demonstrator to create this "fun fold flap" card.

Cutting
Crumb Cake: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4, 3 1/4 x 8 1/2 score at 4 1/4
Cajun Craze: 3 x4
Iconic Celebration DSP: 2 3/4 x 3 3/4, (2) 1 x 4
Basic White: 3 x4, 3 3/4x 2 (Label), scraps for leaves

Assembly
Adhere the 1 x 4 strips to the sides of the Crumb Cake rectangle, leaving a little margin on the sides.
Fold the other Crumb Cake cardstock and adhere between the DSP strips, this will fit top to bottom. Adhere the Basic White to the inside of the flap.
Adhere the DSP to the Cajun Craze and then to the flap, the sheet of DSP I used has great patterns on either side, pick pumpkins or plaid!
Die cut the large label and stamp the sentiment in Cajun Craze, attach to the flap with dimensional in the center.
I stamped the outline leaf in Mossy Meadow and Cajun Craze, and the full leaf in Crushed Curry, these come with matching dies or you can fussy cut. I used Glue Dots to adhere them to the label and topped with 2023 -2025 Opaque Sparkle Dots in Copper Clay.

This card can be put together with any of the Iconic Celebration DSP and Iconic Imagery Bundle.

Have some fun with your paper today
