Colori;ng with Blends

I spent great day yesterday using my Stampin' Blends and the Simply Succulents Bundle. I watched a video by another demonstrator who is a Pro at coloring with her Blends. She suggested to start off with a palate of colors that will coordinate with your project. I picked the Oh So Ombre Sale A Bration  Designer Series Paper and also looked at Pintrest pictures of succulents.to help pick colors. As you ca see from my palate no all colors made the cut for final projects. I did not take a photo of my purples palate to share with you.

I mixed my colors up on the succulents, for example on the trio of blooms on the right side. I laid down a layer of Light Soft Seafoam, then covered the center of the images with Light Pretty Peacock, the tips with Light Rich Razzelberrry, then used the Light Soft Seafoam to blend all the colors together. You need to play with the colors, get a feel for what you like and the combinations.

The dies include a beautiful overlay piece that can be inked with the new Blending Brushes to get a fun 2 piece result. The overlay and the sponged result can be used as a layer on a card. I wanted to us the overlay as a mat for Embossing Paste but mine was so bone dry it was beyond the ability to soften. Once my new jar arrives I will show you how it looks.

I also stamped the image on Shimmer White paper, with VersaMark and White Embossing powder. I colored the image with Blending Brushes, I used Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Gorgeous Grape.

The die sets includes some nice tuck in pieces, the spikey vine and the globby vine, they add a add on to a card. There are also adorable labels for sentiments.

When you stamp today have some fun playing with the products.
