A New Technique

I was seeing this Tunnel or Telescope Technique in other Stampin' Up! Demo websites and decided to try it out. It is easy to put together, you want to have a couple raised image levels. To accomplish this, you need Foam Adhesive Strips and the edges of Dimensionals; the center is attached directly to the card base.

The Designer Series Paper if from the new Scrapbooking Collection, this pack is called Sweet Days of Autumn, the graphics include forest animals, graphic trees and a Old Olive design. Paper packs in the scrapbook line have 12 sheets, 4 of each design.

Have a great day
Cindy

Cutting

Pecan Pie - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4; 3 x 3, 1/2 x 1 1/2

Iconic Celebration DSP - 2 1/4 x 5 1/4, 3/4 x 1 1/2

Crumb Cake - 2 1/2 x 4

Basic White - 4 x 5 1/4

Assembly

Fold the Pecan Pie card base, stamp the snowflake image in Versamark Ink on the front of the card. Stamp the gingerbread man on the 3 x 3 square and the sentiment on the remaining Pecan Pie piece, top with White Embossing Powder and heat. Use the coordinating punch to punch out the gingerbread man, hand trim the sentiment.

Adhere the DSP to the card front a little to the right.

Punch a 3/4-inch hole in the lower center piece of the Crumb Cake cardstock. Attach Dimensionals to the back side, not to close to the punched-out hole. Punch a 1-inch circle from a scrap, any color will work, you will not see it. Glue a 1/2-inch button from your stash to the 1-inch circle, DO NOT glue the circle to the card. Here comes the tricky part, once the glue is set hold the button through the hole in the Crumb Cake cardstock and attach the piece to the card front over the DSP and to the right,

Add glue to the top of the button and attach the 3/4-inch circle you punched to the top. Then add the gingerbread man to the top. Once the glue is set around the button it should spin freely.

Attach the sentiment to the small piece of DSP with Dimensional, trim up and attach to the card front.

Top the card with Iridescent Faceted Gems.

Adhere the Basic White cardstock to the inside of the card.

Grab the Sled

Creating this card is a labor of love, lots of small pieces and gluey fingers; but it is worth it!

The new Two-Toned Paper has a white core, after you run it through and embossing folder you can use a sanding block or emery board over it lightly and bring out the white. This is how the sky looks like has snow coming down.

Look at the sled, the wood grain detail is perfect and reminds me of the old beat-up sled I used when I was a little kid.

Time to make more cards,

Cutting

Thick Basic White - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

Summer Splash - 5 1/4 x 4, scraps for skate laces (cut 2 sets) and strings and a piece to emboss and punch.

Pool Party Two Toned Cardstock - 5 1/8 x 3 7/8 (sorry about the 1/8 measurements)

Silver Foil - 4 x 2 to die cut sled runners and skate blades

Basic White 3 7/8 x 1 1/2 and 1 1/2 x 4

Assembly

  • Emboss the Two-Tone Pool Party paper using the Snowflake Sky Embossing Folder. Run a sanding block/emery board. Adhere this to the Summer Sky Card stock. Tear the smaller piece of Basic White Cardstock in half the long way, to create the snowbank. Adhere on piece on top of the other and attach to the bottom of the embossed piece, trim up the sides if needed. Adhere to card base.
  • To attach the sled runners to the card, put glue on the cross bars and put the ends of the runners under the snowbank. Use thin strips of Dimensonals on the sled to attach to the runners and the harp/cross bar.
  • Now for the skates, take a deep breath... apply a thin line of glue to the back side of the skate near the slit, then slide the tab side of the laces through the slit and attach to the glue, repeat for the other skate. Adhere the blades to the bottom of the skates. Attach Mini Dimensonals to the right side of one of the skates, then put the other skate over it offsetting so you can see both skates. Flip over and attach Mini Dimensonals to the skate. Put a drop of glue at the top of each skate and adhere the strings. Put a Glue Dot on the top of the sled runner and attach the strings to it. From the other set of laces cut the bow part off and attach to the top of the strings.
  • Stamp the sentiment on a Summer Splash scrap with VersaMark ink and cover with White Embossing Powder and heat. Punch this out with the smooth oval from the Double Oval Punch. Using the Blending Brush and Summer Splash ink highlight the edges of the oval. Attach to the card front.
  • Lastly add the Clear Ribbon Gems to the card, I put on the string ties to cover the center.

Clean off your fingers and admire your card!

It is so cute!
