My take on the Impossible Box

Surfing the blogs on this raining Tuesday I saw a box on a couple websites and thought I could use a Spring themed project.

I used Just Jade and Magenta Madness for the bases of the boxes and Flowers for Every Season DSP.

Measurements and Materials

  • Card stock 8 1/2" x 10" (if you have 8 1/2" wide card stock then there is no need to cut down to 8 1/4")
  • Score on the long side @ 2" - 7" - 8" - 9"
  • Score on the short side @ 2" - 4" - 6" 8"
  • Fold to the second score line and place fold to top of score board and make a small pencil mark @ 1" - 3" - 5" - 7"
  • These are the marks you start your diagonal cut from - see pictures
  • Card stock mats
    • 3 7/8" x 1 7/8" (x4)
    • 7/8" x 1 7/8" (x4)
  • DSP mats
    • 3 3/4" x 1 3/4"  (x4)
    • 3/4"  x 1 3/4"  (x4)
  • The smaller mats are added to the inside of the top flap
  • Do not glue the tab on the top until the end to ensure a good fit of the top

A Horizontal Front Flap card

  What a cute idea for a card opening and I love the dual use of the Blooming Phrases stamp set. First let's do the folding of the card. Cut a piece of Designer Series Paper 8 x 6 3/4 being mindful of any pattern you have to consider, using a landscape orientation. Score on the left side and top at 2 3/4. Fold and gently burnish the left score line and make a tic mark as indicated. Now fold and burnish the top score line the same way, making the tic mark as indicated. To create the diagonal score, match the tic marks up on your paper trimmer and make the score, fold and burnish To create the fold, push the diagonal fold in and create the square on the top of the Designer Series Paper. Adhere this to the Daffodil Delight Card base. Now for the fun part, the stamping. On the Basic White square, stamp the greeting in Old Olive ink.
