Faux Linen Technique

Here is the last Open House card, we created a Faux Linen look. In the past this look was achieved using a lot of Multipurpose Glue, what mess it created. This card uses the Adhesive Sheets, its a little sticky but not like the glue, take your time and it works out great. The Adhesive Sheet goes on the front of the Awash in Beauty Designer Series Paper, peel off the top protective sheet and crumple up a piece of plain old white tissue paper (mine came from a Paper Pumpkin kit) place it on top of the adhesive. Pat it down but do not flatten out the winkles, that is how you get the linen look. You need to select a Designer Series Paper or image that has bold colors for this look.

Attach the "linen" layer to the Basic Black layer. Color the White Crinkle Ribbon with the Dark Balmy Blue Stampin' Blends, attach it to the layer, Top with the embossed and die cut sentiment using Stampin' Dimensionals. Tie a bow and attach it to the card front with a glue dot. Lastly attach the "linen" layer to the Balmy Blue card base, sprinkle on a few Iridescent Pearls and send to a friend.

Happy Stamping

Botanical Fresh Idea

I played around with the Botanical Layers stamp set, used lots of color combinations and picked this spring fresh look.

As always I used Thick Basic White for the card base. I had to use the Stampin' Cut & Emboss, not the Mini, the embossing folder is too wide for the  Fern Embossing Folder and Fresh Freesia cardstock. A Deckle Rectangles Die was used to create the area to stamp and one of the banners from the Stylish Shapes for the sentiment.

Randomly stamp the images using Soft Seafoam, Orchid Oasis, Pale Papaya and Fresh Freesia ink. I used Orchid Oasis for the sentiment.

Place Stampin' Dimensional under the sentiment. To make the bow, hold the two ribbons on top of each other and tie, attach to the card front with a glue dot. Add the Brushed Brass Butterflies and you are done.

Have a happy stamping day

Cindy

Special Meaning

Seeing the Sweetest Cherries bundle in the new catalog made me smile and remember how much my Mom and Suzanne loved the color red and cherries. I knew this bundle would make me happy and it has.

I found it easy to punch the cherries, stems and leave, then stamp. The stamps line up nicely with the punched pieces. The colors I used are Sweet Sorbet, Tahitian Tide, Parakeet Party and Soft Suede. Top the card off with a Black & White Gingham Ribbon bow.

The card captures sweet memories for me.

Another Open House Card

The Potted Geraniums Bundle is so me, I love geraniums in pots in front of my house. I lean toward red ones but this card looked so soft and feminine in Blushing Bride, I had to share it with you.

This card has a layer of Basic White embossed with the Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder and a strip of the beautiful Textured Chic Designer Series Paper.

To get the look I have there is a lot of stamping off, but its worth the effort. For the pot stamps I used Sahara Sand, the leaves Mossy Meadow and Pear Pizzazz, the blossoms are Blushing Bride and the sentiment is stamped in Crumb Cake.

Hope you enjoy this card, I will be posting other versions of the stamp set later on my FB Business page
