Toddy started out gloomy and cool, but now the sun is coming out and it is beautiful outside. The lilac trees are blooming and the snowball bush is putting on dozens for heads that will turn white in the next week. Doing a little bit of yard clean up each day to help it recover from two years of neglect by me. Ready for the yard to look good again.
After I came in from watering and cutting back volunteer bushes that have grown in the flower beds I was ready for some flower inspiration. I have the Awash in Beauty collection on my desk and looked cards ideas I tried yesterday and the Designer Series Paper, it is a WOW and the Distinktive stamp set. Played with the ink colors to find a look that appealed to me.
Here is my ink tryout sheet, trying the coordinating colors, Blushing Bride, Balmy Blue and Merry Merlot. I used a sponge dauber to highlight the centers. I used Blushing Bride and tipped the petals with a sponge dauber and Merry Merlot ink.
I also did not want a flat color for the accent blossoms, I used a water painter with Granny Apple Green and a light touch with the Mossy Meadow.
Here is the card I created
Added Wink of Stella to the flowers and Pastel Pearls to the flower center and a sentiment from Bottled Happiness.
Enjoy
