Frosted Forest

When I spotted this card idea, I grabbed my embossing paste to make a sample, you get the look of a snow-covered tree. The fun fold is a nice bonus for the card.

Let's start with the cutting instructions

Mossy Meadow: (2) 5 1/2 x 4 1/4, score one piece at 1 3/8 and 2 3/4

Basic White: (2) 2 1/4 x 4

Old Olive: 2 3/4 x 4 1/4

Gold Foil: 2 1/2 x 4

Season of Green & Gold Designer Series Paper: (2) 1 1/4 x 4

Assembly

Adhere the DSP strips to the sides of the unscored Mossy Meadow Cardstock, leaving a border around the outside edges.

Fold and burnish the scored piece of Mossy Mead, adhere the wider section between the DSP strips. Form a Z fold that looks like this.

Stamp the sentiment on a piece of the Basic White in Mossy Meadow ink. Adhere to the inside of the card base.

Adhere the Gold Foil Cardstock to the Old Olive Cardstock, then attach this piece to the right side only of the Z fold.

Attach a little piece of Stampin' Seal to the back side of other piece of Basic White Cardstock and attach to Grid Paper. Stamp the tree in Mossy Meadow on the Basic White, then cover with Mask A, making index marks on the Grid Paper, so that you can align the other masks. Fill in the area with Old Olive Ink and a Blending Brush. Remove Mask A and put on Mask B, matching alignment marks. Fill in this area with Mossy Meadow Ink and a Blending Brush. Remove this mask. Give this ink a minute or two to dry or hit it with the heat tool so that the ink does not bleed into the Embossing Paste. Cover the tree with Mask C and open the Shimmer White Embossing Paste, with one of the Palette Knives scoop a little bit of the Paste onto the Mask and smooth out. Remove this mask and clean it and the Palette Knife with water quickly that the paste does not dry on them.  Allow this to dry before fussy cutting it out.

Put a line of Stampin' Seal on each side the back of the tree, loop the Gold Twisted Thread on the back and attach to the card with Dimensionals.

Finish the card by topping the tree with Cherry Cobbler Berry Gems.

Here is the card open to add your greetings.

Such a pretty card to send to someone!

A Simple Christmas Greeting

This simple patchwork quilt look provides an easy way to use the scraps of any favorite Designer Series Paper by cutting 1 x 1 squares from three patterns. Isn't it amazing that Stampin' Up! paper pack contain coordinating patterns and colors.

Saturday when we were making this card, my friends that also quilt had "difficulties" since the 1-inch squares are not "perfectly" cut. This card comes together quickly.

Cutting Instructions
Thick Basic White: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4
Poppy Parade: 3 1/2 x 3 1/2
Basic White: 3 1/4 x 3 1/4, 2 1/2 x 1 1/2 (die cut label), 3 1/4 x 2 (stamp and die cut pine bough)
Sentimental Christmas Designer Series Paper: select 3 patterns and cut 3 1-inch squares of each pattern

Assembly
Adhere the 1-inch squares to the Basic White square, leaving a thin border around the squares. Adhere this piece the Poppy Parade square and attach this to the folded card base.
Stamp the full pine bough in stamped off Garden Green and the thinner pine bough on top using Shaded Spruce ink. Die cut, then attach to the card front.
Stamp the sentiment in Poppy Parade on the oval label. Tie a piece of Gold Twisted Thread through the hole in the label and tie into a bow. Use Dimensionals to adhere this to the card front.

All you need to finish off the card is writing a note inside the card, address an envelope and one Christmas card is ready for the mail.

Any Designer Series Paper and sentiment can be used to make this card your own.
